NAME: We Want to Know – بدنا نعرف
“We Want to Know” is a narration of the journeys of Lebanese high school students into the civil war in Lebanon (1975-1990_ as seen through the eyes of their parents, grandparents, relatives, and neighbors.
“We Want to Know” uncovers what daily life was like during periods of war, bombings, curfews, and kidnappings, and living under the constant threat of death and loss. The film traces the stories of four middle-aged characters (Iman, Widad, Nadim, and Mona) who lived, lost, and struggled through the war. A war that ended abruptly without addressing its causes or consequences. An entire generation, now in their 40s and 50s, had never spoken of the civil war to their children before. They uncover and share their recollections of those days for the first time.
